Day 14

The Lord is My Strength and My Shield

Psalm 28: 7 – “The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart turns, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”
What is your source of strength? Do you depend solely on your own physical and mental capabilities to get through each day? Do you depend only on what you eat to provide you with energy?

In writing Psalm 28, David pointed out that the Lord is his strength and his shield.

The Lord provides the strength we need for each day. And that strength comes when we draw near to Him. Pull away from Him and you may find yourself overcome with weakness. Take your eyes off of Him and your circumstances can consume your thoughts and drain you of strength.

Draw near to the Lord and you will be strengthened. Draw near to Him and let Him protect you. For He is also your shield – an alert and active shield that knows all you are currently facing and all you will face in the future.
Pray: Dear Lord, thank You for being my strength and my shield. Forgive me for the times my heart turns away from You. I know You can strengthen me and protect me better than I can myself.
