Day 10

Overcome Anxiousness with Prayer and Thanksgiving

Philippians 4: 4-7 – “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians Chapter 4 provides us with a remedy for worry and anxiousness. To combat anxiousness, we should pray and we should be thankful.

Prayer acknowledges our dependence on God. Thanksgiving reminds us that God has provided in the past and that He is capable of providing in the future.

Pray and be thankful, letting your requests be known to God, and God’s great peace will guard your hearts and your minds from anxiousness.
Pray: Lord, forgive me for the times that I fail to recognize that You are in control. Forgive me for my anxiousness, as my worry is often an indication that I am attempting to control various aspects of my life instead of trusting You. Dear God, thank You for desiring to hear from me and for listening to my requests. And thank You for guarding my heart and my mind with Your amazing peace.
