Day 7

The Good News Is Exciting

Ephesians 3:4-6 — “When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. 6 This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.”
Can you imagine what Paul must have thought when the mystery of the gospel was revealed to him? To think that the forgiveness of sins extends even to the Gentiles was an unheard of concept to the Jews.

After being rooted in a culture of prejudice, Paul begins sowing a message of love. After promoting disunity, Paul begins proclaiming that both Jew and Gentile are equal at the foot of the cross. After supporting segregation, Paul begins sharing that all believers are united in the same body – the body of  Jesus Christ.

The gospel is no longer a mystery, but that doesn’t mean that it is any less exciting. Get excited about the Good News of Jesus Christ. And then share it with someone.
Pray: Dear Lord, it just doesn’t make sense to me that You would choose to take the punishment for the sins that I have committed.  But that is what is so incredible about You – that You made a way for us to have a close, personal relationship with You. God, I ask You to help me embrace the life-transforming power of the gospel. And help me to boldly share this Good News with those who need to hear it.
