The Son of the Living God Will Build His Church
Matthew 16: 15-16 – “He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am? Simon Peter replied, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’”
Jesus applauded Peter for his correct answer in Matthew 16: 15-16.
Jesus then said: “On this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).
Jesus made it clear that He is in charge of building His church. He didn’t say pastors would build his church or missionaries would build His church, or even that the proclaiming of His word would build His church. Jesus said HE would build His church.
The church belongs to Jesus. And He is at work building it – here in Alamance County, N.C., as well as in Giles County, Virginia.
Aren’t you glad Jesus is the one responsible for building His church?
If you are, thank Him for His work today.

Pray: Dear Jesus, we thank You for building Your church. We recognize that You are in control. You are to be pre-eminent in all that we do and say and think. Help us to recognize that You are also in control of Your church. And help us to find comfort in that fact.
